Find companies similar to your best customers
Give AngelEQ one of your best customers and it finds companies like it across the complete Swedish register, matched on what each business actually does rather than the industry code it happens to carry. Every similar company comes back with financials and named decision-makers, so a lookalike search ends with a list you can call, not a list you still have to research.

What similar-company search does
Your best customers are the clearest brief you have. Similar-company search, sometimes called lookalike or twin-company search, turns one of them into a segment: point AngelEQ at a company that already works for you, and it returns others that resemble it, ranked by how close the resemblance is. The seed can be a single account, a handful of your strongest customers, or a short description of the profile you want to repeat.
Why industry codes miss the best matches
The usual way to find "more like this" is to copy the customer's SNI industry code and filter on it. That breaks in both directions. A code is one label, chosen once at registration, so a company that does exactly the same work under a neighbouring code never shows up, and a broad code lumps a niche specialist together with businesses that share almost nothing with it.
AngelEQ matches on meaning instead. It reads each company's own description of what it does, then finds the companies whose actual activity is closest to your seed, whatever code they filed under. A precision machining shop matches other precision machining shops, not the whole of "manufacturing", and a niche consultancy stops matching every firm that ever ticked the consulting box.
What you can start from
- One customer. A name or an organisation number is enough; AngelEQ resolves it against the register and works from there.
- Several of your best customers. Seed the search with a group and AngelEQ finds companies that share what they have in common.
- A described profile. No seed account to hand? Describe the kind of company you want in plain language and start from that.
What each match comes back with
A ranked list is only useful if you can act on it. Where the data exists, every similar company arrives already enriched:
- Identity. Official name, organisation number, and current status.
- Classification. SNI industry code, employee band, and region, plus the full corporate group.
- Financials. Revenue, margin, growth, and solvency from filed annual reports, so you can keep only the companies worth your time.
- People. Named board and CEO decision-makers, business contacts, and a phone number where available.
- Public-sector signal. Whether the company already sells to Swedish municipalities.
From a seed to a segment you can act on
Point AngelEQ at your seed, review the ranked matches against the complete Swedish register, tighten the list with the filters you would expect (region, size, revenue, whether financials are filed), and export it with contacts and financials attached. Already have a list of accounts to expand? Enrich it first, then grow it with lookalikes. If you are still weighing tools, the guide to choosing a prospecting tool covers where lookalike search fits.

Frequently asked questions
What is similar-company (lookalike) search?
Similar-company search takes a company you already like as a customer and returns other companies that resemble it. AngelEQ does this across the complete Swedish register, ranking matches by how closely each one resembles your seed company in what it actually does, then attaching financials and named decision-makers so the list is ready to act on.
How is this different from filtering by SNI industry code?
An industry code is a single label chosen at registration. It groups a specialist welding shop with heavy steelworks and misses companies that do the same work under a different code. AngelEQ reads each company's own description of what it does and matches on meaning, so you catch close matches the code hides and drop the ones the code wrongly includes.
What can I use as the starting point?
Start from a single customer by name or organisation number, from several of your best customers at once, or from a short plain-language description of the kind of company you want. AngelEQ resolves the seed against the register and returns a ranked list of similar companies.
Does every similar company come with financials and contacts?
Yes, where the data exists. Each match comes back with its organisation number, SNI industry code, employee band and region, filed financials such as revenue, margin and solvency, and named board and CEO decision-makers, so you can qualify and call without a second enrichment step.
Is the data GDPR-compliant and EU-hosted?
Yes. The data is hosted in the EU (Sweden) and handled GDPR-first, with a documented lawful basis, opt-out, and erasure for personal data such as named contacts.
